Hydrophilic polyurethane foam matrix: The dressing core is made of a hydrophilic (water‑attracting) polyurethane foam, which helps manage wound exudate and maintain a moist healing environment. Moisture‑regulating components: It’s formulated with a starch co‑polymer to assist in moisture retention, and includes glycerol (glycerin) to help regulate hydration at the wound interface. Non‑adhesive without border design: The absence of adhesive backing and side borders means the dressing is ideal when you prefer to secure with tape, bandage, or secondary cover rather than rely on built‑in adhesive. This also allows for customised sizing/trimming. Conforms to wound bed: The dressing expands slightly and conforms to the wound surface, helping to create a protective “cove” around the wound, reducing dead space and potential trauma to the wound bed during dressing changes. Absorbency and cleansing action: In addition to absorbing wound exudate (the dressings are reported to handle up to ~10× their weight in fluid in some source info) the advanced design includes a cleansing agent that is activated by wound moisture, which may reduce manual cleansing. Color & visual identity: The dressing is identified by a pink foam colour (common to the PolyMem brand line) which may help with visual differentiation in clinical settings. Sterile/disposable: Single‑use, sterile dressing; each unit is intended for one‑time application and proper disposal according to wound‑care protocols.
